biography

Born the third child and only son of a young couple from central Pennsylvania. I was taught at a very young age the value of hard work and perseverance. I was compelled at the age of six to go to work with my father, who was a flooring contractor, and thereafter every summer till I was sixteen years old. My parents firmly instilled in me the concept that “ You are responsible for yourself and your actions and to always take responsibility for those actions for whether it is for your benefit or detriment”.

While in high school my curriculum included all college prep. courses. However, I was not able to afford higher education at the time. I therefore joined the military in particular the United States Navy. I served three years aboard the USS John F. Kennedy an Aircraft carrier stationed out of Norfolk, Virginia. I worked as a Machinist Mate on this ship. This means I worked in the engine room running the propulsion machinery including but not limited to turbines, pumps, compressors, and the boiler if needed. During my service on the USS John F. Kennedy I was deployed on what was supposed to be a six month Mediterranean Cruise. This was extended to 10 months due to the difficulties that the United States was having at the time with Mohamar Kadafy of Libya. This was the terrorist mastermind of that time.

When my service in the military was complete I returned to Pennsylvania and began my own business as a flooring contractor. I was an owner operator of this business for five years during which time I saved for and bought my first home. I enjoyed being self employed but at the same time the twelve to sixteen hour days took their toll on my personal life so I decided to return to the ranks of the normal work force. Due to the position I held in the U.S.. Navy I easily found employment in a machine shop where I was rapidly placed in a Journeyman Machinist Apprenticeship. I received My state certified papers and worked for twelve years in this field until I was permanently laid off because my position was relocated to Mexico.

Now faced with the decision of what direction my life would take from this point forward I decided to enter into the field of Digital Arts. At the age of forty I entered school at Thompson Institute determined to acquire my Associates Degree in their fast paced degree program. In this program you receive you two year Associates Degree in eighteen months.

I finished this course of study with an excellent grade point average and a firm grasp of the design principles necessary to become an above average asset to any company looking for an artist capable of using the design principles and software platforms needed to succeed in this fast paced environment. I also have a realistic concept of the employment world and what is expected of a dedicated employee by his or her supervisor and or employer.
